Pediatric Post-Surgery Disposal Pouch Funding Opportunity Application
The Opioid Prescribing Engagement Network (OPEN) at the University of Michigan is pleased to offer a grant funding opportunity to support the use of medication disposal pouches after pediatric surgeries. We aim to remove the risk of unused medications and substances from our community by offering a medication disposal option that is convenient for patients.

Applicants will receive cases of 200 Deterra activated carbon medication disposal pouches that will be distributed to pediatric surgery patients. Applicants can request appropriate numbers of cases for their sites. Pouches will be provided through Deterra and purchased for the awardees by OPEN. Awardees will be responsible for distributing pouches to pediatric surgery patients, as well as providing metrics on the use and impact of the pouches through progress reporting.

Applications will be reviewed through May 15th, 2023. Selected applicants will be contacted by email. Please review the OPEN Pediatric Surgical Pain Management Toolkit at https://michigan-open.org/resource/pediatric-surgical-pain-management-toolkit/
