Discrimination against the trans community is woven into public policy and private practices across our nation. Trans Americans face bias in housing, education, medical care, hiring and job security, military service, and public safety. Hate crimes and suicide rates continue to rise. Mr. Johnson will expose how immoral prejudice is violating human rights and explain how we can work for positive change.

Speaker:  Sayer Johnson (he/him) is the co-founder and executive director of Metro Trans Umbrella Group (MTUG) – a grassroots nonprofit that brings together the local community of trans, gender queer, androgynous, intersex, and their allies through community, visibility, education, and advocacy. Sayer is a storyteller, artist, and lifelong organizer, dedicated to building power for transgender adults. He is also a husband and a Papi to three awesome humans.
