UA School of Music Degree and Non-Degree Recital Request Form, 2023-2024
Please read these instructions in their entirety.  

1) Please be sure to secure your recital date with your accompanist FIRST, approved by your accompanist and your applied instructor, before requesting your recital date.. 2) Enroll for class.
Junior and non-degree recitals - no class needed.
Seniors: Sign up for MUSIC:457 Senior Recital (required)
Grad students:  Sign up for MUSIC:698:001 Graduate Recital (required)

IMPORTANT:  You do NOT need to fill out the Guzzetta Recital Hall room request form for your recital. This form will hold your date.  You will, however, need to fill out the GRH room request form for rehearsals.  

Off-campus recitals must be approved by your applied instructor and Dr. Marc Reed.

ALL NON DEGREE RECITALS MUST BE GIVEN DURING THE FIRST EIGHT WEEKS OF THE SEMESTER.
Recital times for 2022-2023 are as follows: -
Monday – Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday, 1:00 p.m./3:00 p.m./5:30 p.m./7:30 p.m.
Set up time for recitals will be 30 minutes prior to the recital.  Recitals will be limited to 90 minutes.

NO PRERECORDED DEGREE RECITALS.  RECITALS ARE LIVE AND IN PERSON TO FULFILL THE REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION.

These rehearsal times CANNOT take place :
Monday-Friday, 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday, 12:00-9:30 p.m.

Amount of rehearsal time in the Recital Hall is dependent on the type of recital being given:
Non-degree recital - 1 hour
Junior Degree recital - 2 hours
Senior/Graduate Degree recital - 3 hours

5) Recital fees will be paid at  https://commerce.cashnet.com/MUSICFUND.  Recitals will not be confirmed until fee is paid.  Fees are non-refundable.  
      $50 recital fee.
      $100 recital fee if using a UA accompanist. 

6) All recital hearings must be completed three weeks prior to the recital.  If you do not pass your recital hearing, please inform the area coordinator right away.  Your fee will not be refunded.  

7) All recitals need to be approved by accompanist, instructor, and area chair.  It is the students' responsibility to request these approvals.  Please send all approval emails to amycarson@uakron.edu.

By submitting this form, I understand that all recitals are pending until confirmed by applied instructor, accompanist, area chair and recital coordinator. I understand that I must pay a $50 recital fee and a $50 accompanist fee if using a UA accompanist within two weeks of the submission of this form.  I understand that if I cancel my recital, this fee is non-refundable, and if I reschedule my recital, I must submit a new recital fee. I understand that this fee is paid for degree and non-degree recitals.  I understand that degree recitals are approved pending recital hearing (three weeks before the recital date).  I understand that I am responsible for making my own programs and handling any promotion of my event.   *
