Become a Member of AI Impact Alliance
Membership Application

Thank you for your interest in joining the AI Impact Alliance and the Art, AI, Law & Society Resource Cluster.

Membership is key to the cluster's platform sustainability and it facilitates collaboration and knowledge sharing with other members. We rely on the support of the academic and civil society communities to share expertise in an inclusive, independent and high-quality setting.

We invite you to complete the short questionnaire below, upon receipt our Selection Committee will study your request and get back to you as soon as possible.

As a quick reminder, these are the different types of memberships.

  • Professional artists and cultural workers: $10.
  • General membership: $250.
  • Arts and culture organizations and civil society organizations working in the fields of human rights, social and climate justice, support for democracy or any other field that would enrich the platform: between $75 and $250.
  • Research Labs and Institutes : between $2500 and $5000. With management approval, exceptions may be made to accommodate institutes with smaller budgets (see Community Partners).
  • Ambassadors: open to individuals and organizations, requires approval or invitation from management: ranges from $5,000 to $10,000. Donations are accepted, but please note that we do not have charitable status.
  • Community Partners: For organizations that don't have the financial capacity to support us financially, but have significant expertise or perspective to contribute, we offer the opportunity to be a Community Partner. This involves giving us visibility on the organization's platforms and proactively promoting our fellowships, workshops and other key publications or events. This is done by invitation and may be subject to certain limits on participation in working groups.

Other Ways to Support

If you would like to sponsor a residency, a fellowship, or the organization, if you can help fund specific research questions such as the gendered implications of the deployment of Generative AI on women and non-binary arts and cultural workers, if you have other great ideas or consulting needs, please contact Ms. Goddard's at info@algorithmicfrontiers.com.

*AIIA defines Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) as:
  • Mission-oriented non-profit organizations and social entreprises whose principal mission is to promote human rights, sustainable development (SDGs) and Reconciliation with Indigenous and First Nations peoples.
  • Civil society organizations including arts and cultural organizations, as well as some non-registered associations (conditions apply).
If you're not sure if you or your organization fit the criteria, apply and we'll get back to you shortly.
If finances are a factor preventing your organization from joining AI Impact Alliance, please contact us and we'll explore solutions.

Once you receive a notification of acceptance, you will be required to pay 175$ (CAD). This helps us cover the minimal costs of getting the information you need on rapid changes in AI and its governance. You also access discounts for AI Impact Alliance's other services (see our website for more information).

We will open to academic organizations at a later time.

Industry and government are invited to sponsor our independent activities such as workshops and fellowships. Contact us for more information.
