Camp fYrefly 2024- Artist in Residence Application
Camp fYrefly Ontario is seeking a Queer-identified Artist, Dancer, Musician, Writer, Poet, Actor, Designer, Performer, or Photographer (etc) to be our Camp fYrefly Artist-In-Residence. We specifically encourage artists who identify as Black, Indigenous or a person of colour to apply.

Camp fYrefly is a four day arts-based retreat for sexual and gender minority youth hosted at Trent University in Ontario it will be taking place August 8th to 11th, 2024.

A key role of the Artist-in-Residence (AIR) is connecting with all aspects of the camp and the camper experience. We are open to ideas about how and where the AIR would fit into the program. From past camps, the various roles that the AIR has carried out have included the following:

- Opening keynote presentation/address during opening ceremonies.
- Leading a couple of workshops or sessions during the concurrent sessions in their area of artistic expertise
- Assisting with the overall co-ordination and/or choreography of the Showcase production – Saturday evening of camp.
- Being the host for the Showcase event and introducing each of the groups who perform
- Mingling with the small groups during quiet times to engage in conversations with the youth.

This is a paid position. Once receiving your application we will be in contact to schedule an interview to get to know what you envision your residency at camp would look like.
