Envision Community looks forward to becoming your neighbor by locating an intentional community in Webber-Camden.  Specifically, we are proposing to build 24-38 microhomes surrounding a common house on the lots located at 4114, 4122, 4126 & 4130 N. Fremont Ave
YOUR INPUT FROM THE START
The plans for the site on N. Fremont Ave that are shown in this survey are just the first drafts and we are open to changing our plans based on what we learn from this survey, community meetings, and direct interactions with neighbors. Nothing is set in stone at this stage and we want to learn from you about how to make our plans better

WHAT IS  ENVISION COMMUNITY ?
Thank you for your willingness to take this survey. We want to share some key aspects of our proposal before you begin answering the survey questions
TRULY AFFORDABLE: Envision Community is designed to be truly affordable. Our housing system is not fair because people with lower incomes cannot find a place to live at a reasonable price. We designed Envision so that people of all financial means have an equal opportunity to live in a dignified place. *
HIGH QUALITY: Truly affordable does not mean poor quality. Envision Community housing is much smaller than anything in the area but it is high-quality. We achieve true affordability by making our housing smaller and having residents share facilities like a fully outfitted kitchen located in a common house on the property.  For example, Envision has already constructed one unit to show our community. That unit is heavily insulated (R-Value 50) and the windows are triple-paned and very large. *
DIVERSE COMMUNITY:  A diverse population of people will live at Envision Community. The design of Envision included people with lived experience of homelessness. They wanted to create housing that they could truly afford. They felt that diversity was essential for a healthy community. Some people who live at Envision Community will have experienced homelessness, while others will have never been homeless. It will be a mixed income group meaning some residents will have low incomes while others will be living above those income levels.  But no matter what their income, every Envision resident has to pay rent. Some people will have subsidies to help pay for rent. Most residents will have jobs. A few will have complex health needs. Even though Envision’s residents will be a diverse group, everyone at Envision will want to live smaller and live in community. *
PROFESSIONALLLY MANAGED AND SUPPORTED: Tasks Unlimited is the managing organization for Envision Community and will be the owner and operator of the housing meaning they will professionally manage the property. All the residents of Envision Community have the opportunity to be supported by Tasks Unlimited, an organization that has been running intentional communities like Envision for over 50 years. Staff from Tasks Unlimited will help the residents of Envision live cooperatively and support each other. Residents with complex health needs will have a wide range of additional professional supports available to help them live their healthiest lives. *
NOT JUST A TINY HOME VILLAGE: Tiny homes have been gaining popularity and are often seen on TV. Envision is so much more than a tiny home village. For one thing, our professional support of the entire community makes us different. But our emphasis on intentional community is our most unique feature. At Envision, we have a saying that “relationships are more important than roofs.” That means we work hard to create the conditions necessary to live cooperatively and support each other. It also means we intend to build positive relationships in the neighborhood, be good neighbors, and contribute to making the neighborhood safer, healthier, and a continued place of beauty for everyone to live. That is why we are reaching out to you from the start of our site planning process. *
