Registering voters which requires being trained as a Voter Deputy Registrar (one hour) and working a 2 to 4 hour shift at various locations including high schools.

Vote 411 and Voters Guide - assist with information gathering, proofing, and distribution.

MEMBERSHIP

Assist with membership meetings and fundraisers by sitting at information tables, helping with refreshments, and general setup. (WHEN WE CAN MEET TOGETHER AGAIN} (WHEN WE CAN MEET AGAIN

REDISTRICTING Given the 2020 Census, in 2021-2023 Texas will redraw its local, state, and national voting district maps. To support a fair, open, and transparent redistricting process which of these activities are you willing to do.

Write testimony and testify to local and state elected officials.

Write Op-Eds, Letters to the Editor, social media posts to inform the public about gerrymandering impacts and elected officials' progress toward a fair and open process

Lead activities like phone banking or collecting signatures for a petition asking local elected officials to support a fair, open, transparent, and bi-partisan redistricting process

Set up meetings with local elected officials council members, such as county commissioners, school board members

Work with local groups, e.g., LULAC and NAACP to build coalitions to gain support for redistricting reform.

Advocacy efforts for a complete census and redistricting.

LAND USE

LWV-CA has a Land Use Position which includes water, land, and night sky issues. On an ongoing basis, work to further the goals of this position.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

Post flyers at local public gathering spots like coffee shops and churches.

Post events to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Next Door, and other online sites. Would require an hour in the days before the event.

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

Help plan activities for youth to encourage them to become better informed and more active participants in our democracy.

In Guadalupe County, work with Girl Scouts (all levels) to help them earn citizenship badges. At this moment there are no Scout leaders in Comal County that have indicated they are interested.

SPECIAL TALENTS

Photography - take photos at League events

Writing and editing - write and/or edit articles for Voter newsletter and community media outlets. Write and/or edit educational and Get out the Vote materials

Graphics Design - assist in design and content of he LWV-CA website, newsletter, social media accounts or educational materials.
