Most patients undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer in the UK are asked to follow
a Low Iodine Diet (LID) in preparation for treatment with radioactive iodine.
Sometimes patients who do not have thyroid cancer (e.g. Graves’s disease or a
thyroid nodule) are also asked to follow the LID as part of their treatment.
Some people
find that following the LID guidance they are given is straightforward.
However, others find that the information they receive is not clear and feel
that it contributes to their anxiety at an already anxious time.
We would
love to know your views. Please answer the following questions and we will use your
feedback to review the current guidance for the benefit of future patients.
Thank you very much answering these
questions. Your feedback will help us improve the LID guidance for other
patients.
