We've compiled our list of nominees sent to us by the public and have narrowed them down to our top 3 pick for you to vote on! Please help us vote for this year's 2023 Prom Royal. NiK Kacy Presents Queer Prom is a party with a purpose and our mission is always to uplift our community while focusing on inclusion, diversity and unity.
The list is now down to 3 nominees. Here's each nominee with a short description on why they were nominated by the person who submitted their nomination:
A) Nicky Endres, last year's Kacy High Student Council Secretary - Nicky is an incredible, unique, and important voice for the queer community. Their work with Q26, Sex Positive LA, TV series like One Day at a Time, and most recently recurring award winning audiobook narrator for queer and sex positive stories and non-fiction, all have impact to visibility and positive representation for maginalized peoples that consistently deliver. It's as if excellence was written into their DNA. Nicky is genuinely hilarious, brilliant, adorable, and bit a little too wordy but somehow we just can never get enough! Nicky truly lives their beliefs, each and every day, in numerous ways that have powerful impact to uplifting queer culture and identities.
B) Jackie Steele - Jackie's an all-around badass doing the actual work to tear down oppression in all its ugly forms within our queer community and without. Her efforts in this arena are tireless. She inspires me to step up everyday and am so grateful to work with her and learn from Jackie.
C) Mila Miranda - Mila is stepping back into the spotlight supporting and representing queer Latinx women in music! Her performance and messages are a positive way for her to express herself and represent her culture and community!! She brings her best energy on and off of the stage!
