Citizen Curators is a free online programme about museums and curating. It is aimed at people who are curious about how museums work and their purpose in society today. It is led by Dr. Tehmina Goskar of the Curatorial Research Centre and provided by Cornwall Museums Partnership, funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund.
The programme runs from January to June 2021 via fortnightly webinars and discussions and working on projects at your museum. Successful completers will receive a certificate endorsing their accomplishments.
This opportunity is for people who have not benefitted from professional experience in museums, archives, heritage and related fields, including teaching in these areas or undertaking or have completed a Museum Studies, Heritage or related degree. If you are working in or have worked just in operational or front of house roles in museums, you are welcome to apply. This opportunity is for participants aged 18+ and resident in the UK.
*The programme will be primarily delivered via Microsoft Teams and other online meeting software like Zoom. If you want to take part but are concerned about your IT equipment or broadband please send a message to the programme leader or host museum.
