Hockey is a fun sport that caters for all age groups and is a great way for both boys and girls to learn new skills and make new friends.

What you need to know:

All hockey is played on a Saturday morning and is split into the following year groups:

Funsticks Year 1-2:  An 8 week progressive programme that will introduce your child to hockey through basic fundamental skills and fun hockey games.  Shin pads and mouth guards are not compulsary but recommended and sticks and soft balls are provided.  Funsticks will be played at NPGHS Tennis Courts on Mangorei Road, starting on 02 May and finishing on 27 June.  The fee is $35.00
   
Ministicks Year 3-4:  There will be two competition formats, Mini Sticks (experienced players, 1/4 field for 40 minutes) and Mini Sticks Development (fairly new or new to hockey, 1/4 field for 40minutes) All games will be played on the turf at Hobson St.  The season starts on 02 May.  The fee is $50.00
   
Kiwisticks Year 5-6: There will be two competition formats, Kiwi Sticks (Experienced players, 1/2 field for 40 minutes) and Kiwi Sticks Development (fairly new or new to hockey, 1/4 field for 40 minutes)  All games will be played on the turf at Hobson St.  The season starts on 02 May. The fee is $55.00

With the exception of Funsticks all players are to wear mouth guards and shin pads when practising and playing at all times.  Players will need to supply their own hockey sticks, black shorts, long black socks and sports shoes with good tread. A school sports top will be supplied.
