Gender in Coffee and Cocoa Initiative
THE COCOA AND COFFEE INITIATIVE
In 2016 KIT, FAO and TWIN started the Gender in Cocoa and Coffee Initiative. It brings together a range of actors in coffee and cocoa value chains to share experiences on gender initiatives and to identify ways to move forward. In 2016 and 2017, the Initiative organized the conference on inclusive and gender-sensitive producer organisations and followed up with a lightshop  in 2017. Ideas and case studies raised in this lightshop are documented in the joint publication “Changing the Terms of Women's Engagement in Cocoa and Coffee Supply Chains“, published in July 2019

As a third activity, the initiative will organize a webinar series to continue with cross-fertilization and learning between the coffee and cocoa sector as well as between different regions.
