Topic: Adam Isacson will join us to discuss the issues presented in his written article "A Fresh Start for Colombia...and for U.S. policy?" He will focus on how the traditional
relationship between the United States and Colombia may change as a result of
the election of Gustavo Petro.

About the Speaker:
Adam earned a Master of Arts degree from Yale University and did his undergraduate studies at Hampton College. He has visited Colombia more than 70 times and worked in 23 of Colombia’s 32 provinces. His path-breaking work at WOLA has focused on the
Colombian Armed Forces and U.S. Government support for Colombia’s military
through Plan Colombia up to the present. He is the Director for WOLA’s Defense
Oversight Program, which monitors U.S. cooperation with the Latin American
security forces and other security activities.
