2020 Spring Soteria Course Proposal Form
The Festival Center seeks four (4) Educators for the 2020 Spring Semester of Soteria Community School. The Fall Semester starts in early- to mid- March and continues through April. An Educator will select, design, and teach a course of their choosing over a period of six (6) weeks in the spring. The classes will meet once each week for 1.5 to 2 hours on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Classes can focus on current or relevant social issues, activism, race, gender, sexuality, religion, spirituality, art, literature, politics, history, a reading group, and more. Previous courses have included Rethinking Poverty, Decolonizing Christianity; Place in the Imaginary Writing Workshop; Understanding Intersectionality; DC 1968: Politics and Protest; Sacred Gathering: Contemplative and Meditative Practices in Community; and more. The courses are open to the public and attract a variety of students. Class sizes range from 5-25 students. Please email your resume to info@festivalcenter.org. Benefits:
Each Educator will receive compensation up to $900 (that is, $150 per class) for the six week course.

Qualifications and Special Requirements:
Demonstrate relevant experience and/or formal education in the topic presented.
Must be able to communicate via email and phone.

Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds and interests in a professional manner.
