Fisherfolk Survey on the Impacts of COVID-19 in CRFM Member States
The CRFM Secretariat is conducting a survey on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the fisheries sector. The purpose of this survey is to rapidly assess the impacts on production, markets,  fisher livelihoods, and food security. The survey also seeks to identify what support measures are being offered by the private/public sector and what additional support is needed. The information will be used to determine the current situation in the fisheries sector and identify various measures for the way forward. The information will also support the implementation of the CARICOM COVID-19 Agri-Food Risk Management Framework which intends to serve as a guide to iterative risk planning and management using COVID-19 as the primary risk but with the understanding that it can have secondary and even tertiary impacts later on which could be exacerbated by other risks or hazards such as hurricanes or new pests and diseases. The information from the survey will be treated with confidentiality and only aggregated information will be published.
