CU Film Showcase: Call for Student Films!
Calling all student filmmakers!

The University Life Events Council wants to showcase short films created by students with the campus community at the CU Film Showcase. Want your film to be a part of this showcase?

The CU Film Showcase will take place in Lerner Cinema on Thursday, April 4th from 7:00 to 8:30 PM EST.

If interested, please fill out this Google form and share submission materials with eventscouncil@columbia.edu by Tuesday, March 19th before 11:59 p.m. EST.

Submission Guidelines:
1. A Columbia University student must have been involved in the production of any film included in the showcase. Projects written and/or directed by a current Columbia University student are preferred, as are films with multiple students involved in the production.
2. Films lasting approximately 1-10 minutes in duration will be accepted.
3. The films may be any genre; documentary, fiction short, licensed music video or experimental films will all be accepted.
4. Films must follow all University policies. These include policies of any spaces used on campus. For example, if you are filming in a dorm room, then any films with open flames would be disqualified. If you are filming on campus, cigarettes' would also disqualify a film from being shown. Films cannot contain any federally illicit drugs.
5. All skill levels are welcome!
6. Multiple submissions are welcome.

University Life reserves the right to edit any content submissions for brevity or clarity.

  • a picture of yourself and/or team
  • the name of your film
  • a film poster
