KRUI Show Application
This form is for anyone applying for a new show OR for returning DJs to reapply for their show. If you would like to propose a new show, re-apply for a returning show (either specialty or general rotation), or change a show, please fill out this form!

!!! Important Information !!!
  • If you are applying for a specialty show, be prepared to workshop the premise with me 1:1 either via email, over zoom, or in person. After that, I will pitch your show at the weekly directors meeting and we will all decide whether or not to approve the show
  • Be aware that if you had a show on KRUI in previous semesters, you are not guaranteed a renewal. You MUST fill out this form and will be subject to the same review process as new shows.
  • Applying for a show as soon as possible gives you the best chance to get your preferred time slot. Time slots are given on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Understand that by filling out this form and proposing a show you are making a commitment to your time slot. You must fill your time slot every week. That being said please do not come to the station if you are not feeling well. We will observe and honor the University of Iowa's excused absence policy (illness, family illness, funerals, and the observation of religious holidays). DJs must sign in to the studio when they arrive for their shows. Any anticipated absences should be communicated to the programming director as soon as possible at mdunn@krui.fm.

GENERAL ROTATION: This semester, General Rotation DJs will work with Lead DJs to play the new music coming into the station. It will be a (mostly) daily show called "KRUI Spins". It will consist of a few general rotation DJs and one DJ who has experience running a show. In order to get this to run well, I need to know what times you, A GENERAL ROTATION DJ, can come in. Please give me blocks of time that you can come in to the studio.

Our station runs 24/7. Saturday shows have the possibility of being canceled on a week to week basis due to sports coverage, especially during football season. Shows are one hour long. If you would like to propose a multi-hour show please be prepared to tell me how you plan to fill that time.
