B4 The Other is thrilled to be offering art education sessions for young artists through the lens of Play!


ABOUT YOUNG ARTIST POP THEATER:
The Play mindset allows us to have an evolving mindset. Throughout these play sessions we will explore theater through B4 The Other’s POP (Pedagogy Of Play). B4 The Other's work is enriched with social emotional learning and trauma informed care developed from over a decade of community outreach. We will be devising a small performative Halloween experience for the families of the young artists.

SESSION DATES:
The 7 week Play Sessions happen every Wednesday (Sept 15th - Oct 27th).
Performative Halloween experience at 5PM on Wednesday Oct 27th.

The sessions are cumulative. Players attendance is required to uphold the cohesion, integrity, and momentum of the learning community.

Please email maliakekia@b4theother.com in advance if your young artist will be absent from a session.

WHO IS IT FOR:
Young Artists from ages 8 to 14 who are interested in theater, clowning, creating, performing, making friends, dancing, singing, acting and all around foolery.


COVID PRECAUTIONS:
To ensure the safety of our Young Artists who are not yet eligible for the vaccine, we will be fully masked at this time.

Sessions will be a mixture of indoor and outdoor depending on weather. Once outside, we support how each family feels most comfortable with navigating the ever changing landscape of Coivd.

Both facilitators are vaccinated.

If your young artist is showing Covid symptoms we ask that you notify Malia’Kekia immediately and keep them home until you procure a negative test result. Mahalo (thank you).

POP Theater Led By:
Christopher J Beaulieu (Co-Founder) is known as “The Game Changer” and “The Playmaker” across the globe. He is an educator and artist with over 25 years of experience facilitating Community Building and Play Exploration rural retreats, educational residencies, and now online workshops. Being one of the pioneers of facilitating Play work, he is certain that the level of effort, risk and communication we put into our lives is in direct correlation with what we get out of them.
Training: Shakespeare & Company, Dell Arte International, Society of American Fight Directors, Pilobolus, and Creatively Independent.
 
POP Theater Led By:
Malia’Kekia Nicolini (Co-Founder) has been called a “Vibrational Activist” from how she holds space while facilitating. She is an internationally touring actress and teaching artist who has dedicated the last five years of her life to Play Exploration. Malia’Kekia’s belief in being at our most compelling when we are at our least composed, underpins her teachings within B4 The Other. She holds an InnerMBA from Mindful NYU having studied conscious leadership and mindful sustainability in business practices.
Training: Mindful NYU (InnerMBA), New World School of the Arts (BFA), Yale University (Science of Wellbeing), Power of Vulnerability (CE Credits), Mahi Yoga Centre (RYT 200HR), TedXBroadway Young Professionals, American Theater Wing’s SpringboardNYC, Attending the teachings of His Holiness The Dalai Lama at his home temple in Dharamshala, India (2018).
