English (4 credits) – All students must complete one credit of English I, English II and English III (Writing Intensive Course) during high school. Freshmen English class = English I.  Freshmen elective is Young Adult Literature (.5)

Math (3 Credits) - All students are required to complete at least one credit of Algebra I and Geometry in high school.
Freshmen math class = Pre-Algebra or Algebra I.  

Science (3 credits) Freshmen science class = Biology.

Social Studies (3 credits) - .5 credit of US History and .5 credit of civics (sophomore classes – writing intensive) and .5 credit of Government (jr/sr class) are required. Freshmen electives Geography (.5) or World History (.5).

Physical Education & Health (4.0 credits) – Freshmen take .5 credit of Health & .5 credit of PE.  

General Electives (7.0 credits) Electives can be any course that is not being used for any of the above criteria.

Agriculture – Basic Agriculture (1) – This course is a prerequisite for other Ag courses.

English – Young Adult Literature (.5) – repeatable, new genre each year.  

Fine Arts – Band (1), Chorus (1) and Beginning Art (.5)/Studio Art (.5)

Foreign Language - Spanish I (1)

Industrial Technology – Woodworking (.5) and Introduction to Industrial Technology (.5)

Social Studies – Geography (.5) and/or World History (.5)

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) – (.5 credit each)  Technology Inquiry, Computer Programming, Computer Maintenance, Emerging Technology and Robotics. (STEM classes can count as science credits)


*Please note – Freshmen students who have their 15th birthday before 3/1/21 may be eligible to take Driver’s Education second semester of their freshmen year.  The driver’s education course is held during study hall.

All freshmen will take English 1, Biology, and PE/Health. All students will have a study hall.
