As most of you are well aware, the BES dismissal time(s) changed this year (2019-2020 school year). We recognize that this adjustment has impacted students, families, staff and our community in a variety of ways. We'd like to know how to best structure dismissal in the 2020-2021 school year and need your perspective to help make an informed decision based on students' best interests.

*Please keep in mind that there may be staffing and structural changes in the district regardless of dismissal times for TK-5 students based on district and student needs.

Which BES dismissal structure do you prefer?

The previous schedule: Daily TK-3 release separate from 4-5 release. (Tues-Fri TK-3 release @ 2:15pm and 4-5 release @ 3:00pm)

The current schedule: Daily TK-5 release at the same time (Tues-Fri TK-5 release @ 2:25pm)

Smaller class sizes (this would potentially impact 1 grade level at a time)

Separate art instruction for 4th/5th grades (vs. art integration in all classes)

Additional reading/intervention support at all grades K-5

Less congestion and traffic during dismissal/pick-up time

Maximizing instructional minutes for 4th/5th graders
