Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the world and touches more than 75% of Canadians in their lifetimes. We are currently conducting a study that aims to improve the health of all sexually active individuals. The TRAP-HPV (Transmission Reduction And Prevention with HPV vaccination) study investigates the efficacy of an HPV vaccine (Gardasil 9) in reducing transmission of HPV infection in sexual partners of vaccinated individuals. Results will be useful for prevention efforts deployed in Canada and elsewhere in the world.
