Appalachian Grown Farmer Immediate Needs Grant - Application

This grant is intended for farmers with lost sales and farm income due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Farmers may apply for up to $500 to make strategic investments in meeting new market requirements, such as new technology, packaging materials, communications, or other modest investments that will allow the farm to quickly respond to the changing market environment. Qualifying farms must be Appalachian Grown certified. Nonprofits are not eligible at this time.

Priority will be given to farmers who 1) face a significant loss or disruption of market outlets due to COVID-19, 2) depend on the farm business for more than 50 percent of their household income, and 3) plan to use funds to help shift their farm business to new models or adjust to new market requirements.

Conditions of ASAP’s Appalachian Grown Immediate Needs Grant: I understand that this application is for a grant of $500 to be used for tangible materials or tools needed for farm businesses to respond to the COVID-19 Crisis. This does not include salaries, overhead, or operating expenses. I agree to adhere to the approved, allowable expenditures as identified in my application for funding. I will maintain receipts for all grant expenditures for up to one year from grant award date. Any changes to grant award expenditures must be approved prior to purchase.
