➡️ Why join Q's Initiative Committee?

In the absence of an official, student-facing LGBTQ+ Center at BU, we play a significant role in advocating for LGBTQ+ students & providing them with resources, peer support, & affirming community-building opportunities. By joining this Committee, you will play a direct role in connecting with & helping support hundreds of LGBTQ+ students at BU!

You will also develop valuable skills including team leadership, social justice advocacy, community engagement, community organizing, creative problem-solving, communication, & more. Plus, this would be great volunteer experience to put on your resume!

➡️ What are the requirements to join?

   ❖ Be a current BU student. Allies are welcome & encouraged to join!
   ❖ Be committed to creating a respectful, collaborative, & intersectionally affirming environment for all Committee members

➡️ How often will this Committee meet?

Each initiative will meet on an as-needed basis. When2Meets will be sent out to determine the best times to meet.

➡️ What is the time commitment?

You are welcome to volunteer as much as your availability permits, but we ask that you try to dedicate at least 2 hours per month to advancing the initiatives you are interested in. Advocacy burnout is real: please always practice self-care, be mindful of your stressors, set boundaries, & refill your own cup so you can best support LGBTQ+ students!
