A weekend retreat for BPOC growers and land workers in the countryside
APPLICATIONS FOR THIS HAVE NOW CLOSED.

As our work and conversations around land and climate justice necessarily expand and intersect with issues of racial justice, there is an urgent need for gentle, nourishing spaces for BPOC to replenish, meet with others and build community.

Taking place in the Forest of Dean, these retreats will be an opportunity for BPOC growers and land workers to spend a peaceful weekend together, connecting to the natural world in the Gloucestershire countryside. Over a weekend, there will be opportunities to go for walks, contribute to the adjacent growing site, learn from one another and converse around the fire.

There will be three retreats taking place this year, and each place is fully funded (excluding travel) and open to all growers and land workers who identify as BPOC. They will all take place at Ragman's Lane Farm in the Forest of Dean.

Expressions of interest for the April retreats are now closed. The deadline for expressions of interest for the Aug and Sept retreat is Friday 17th June. We will be back in contact after that date and applications received after that date will not be considered.

Which retreat would you like to attend? If you can make more than one of the weekends below, please tick all the dates that you can attend as this will enable us to allocate spaces most efficiently
We envisage the retreats to be a combination of growing, connecting with and learning from each other, but we’d like the programme to respond to the wants and needs of the participants. To help us plan, please tell us what you hope to get out of the weekend and anything you are bringing to the space: *
Please share a few sentences about your experience as a grower and land worker: *
The retreat will be hosted at Ragman's Lane Farm (http://www.ragmans.co.uk/stay_with_us/). The accommodation offered will be in shared dormitories with each room containing between 2-6 beds and there is also camping available on site. Please tell us where you would like to stay: *
All the food over the weekend will be provided and there is a kitchen available for our use should participants wish to bring their own food. While the menu will be vegan, other dietary requirements will also be taken into consideration so please share anything you'd like us to know about your food needs below: *
The nearest train station to Ragman's Lane Farm is Gloucester, which is half an hour drive away. We plan to provide some pick-ups from the station, but to organise this it would be helpful to know where you are travelling from. Also, if you are driving, please let us know if you can offer a lift to other participants or provide a pick-up from Gloucester train station: *
While the retreats, food and accommodation are fully funded, we unfortunately do not have the funds to also cover travel costs. Despite this, we are keen to make sure that the retreats are as accessible as possible so if you need a travel bursary to be able to attend, please let us know below and we will see what support we can provide:
Ragman's Lane Farm is a working farm with uneven ground and steep slopes, so sadly it is not as accessible for those with disabilities as we would like. Please do tell us of any accessibility needs or medical conditions that you would like us to be aware of: *
