Skagit CERT Course: The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training educates people disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during CERT exercises, members can assist their community or workplace following an emergency event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. The course is FREE and you will receive a CERT manual in class and CERT kit for use during the hands on training.This free training includes an online lecture portion and is to be followed up by an in-person, hands-on, practical portion.If you have any questions, please contact Rick Wallace, SkagitCoCERT@gmail.com or call 435-261-7921.  Thank you.

ONLINE LECTURE PORTION OF HCERT TRAINING                                      There are three components to this section;

1. Approximately 12 hour of interactive video.

2. Digital CERT Participant Manual 

3. Participant CERT Skills Checklist  

This training is accessible via mobile device or computer.

Complete at your own pace and at your convenience.

Course progress is saved and can be resumed later.

You will receive the link to the online portion once you register register on this form.

Certificate of online course completion must be presented prior to participation for the hands-on portion of your training.

IN-PERSON, HANDS-ON, PRACTICAL PORTION OF YOUR TRAINING

Estimated time 16 hours

Date and time: 09/21-22/2023, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Attendance required both days to complete course work and earn your certificate of completion
