2022-2023 Junior STO Application (Deadline February 28, 2022)

NEW THIS YEAR: Nevada Thespians is creating is expanding student leadership opportunities to our 6th, 7th , and 8th grade students. Students in middle school theatre programs can now apply to be junior officer on our STO adjunct Board. Junior officers will be elected to one of the following committees on the adjunct board.

Junior Conference Committee- These students are committed to attending all local conferences for the 2022-2023 school year in person. They will attend a set up meeting the day before conference, and assist with the running of the event

Junior Advocacy Ambassador- These students will attend monthly meetings over zoom with the STO and Sto Liaisons. They will have advocacy, outreach and community tasks that can be completed from home, or within their home school

Each member of the adjunct board is invited to assist with conferences, discuss issues, policies and ideas, but is only required to attend the meetings of their elected committee. All adjunct member are an integral part of the board and will be a part of all festivals.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted. (You must have your troupe director recommendation, parent support and flip grid all complete by the deadline date) DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION IS FEBRUARY 28, 2022

All candidates must:
* Be selected by their theatre teacher to run. Only two candidates from each school can apply

* Fill out this Google Form Application answering the questions explaining their qualifications and explaining why they want to be a part of the Junior STO Board

* Create a Flipgrid Video at: https://flipgrid.com type in the code: sto2022. (or TOPIC CODE: https://flipgrid.com/958e56d2.) In the video:
-Introduce yourself, (Name, school, troupe number and grade)
-Answer questions 4 & 5 from the narrative section of this application
-Take 60 to 90 seconds to show us your personality, you can do or say whatever you wish that will give some insight as to "who" you are.

*Attend a live interview (In-person, or over zoom) with members of our adult board. These interviews will occur after school on March 3rd. You will be contacted through e-mail with your scheduled time.

* Have your Troupe Director or theatre teacher fill out the recommendation Google Form online:

* Have your parent or guardian fill out the "parental support" Google Form online: https://forms.gle/eFoya5Qvne4sGyWy8 or find the link on our website at www.nvthespians.org under the STO tab

The new 2022-2023 STO Board will be announced at the final awards ceremony, and informed by e-mail
