Spring hiking in Oze is magical. There is so much to explore from beautiful ponds, grasslands and forests, to waterfalls, lakes and mountains. The trails are well maintained and elevated boardwalks allow an unforgettable hike above marshlands. We will stay in a Japanese style mountain hut in the middle of the national park, visit Ozenuma lake and waterfalls. The Milkyway is often visible due to Oze’s very dark night sky. Depending on the conditions we will look at hiking Mt Hiuchigatake, an area, like the waterfalls, most visitors to the park don't visit with great views of the marshland and lake.

Saturday
7:00 am: Meet in Jimboucho.
7:15 am: Departure for Oze.
10:45 am: arrive at Oze National Park.
Orientation/safety briefing/start hike
Explore the Mt Hiuchigatake and Lake Ozenuma
Picnic lunch
3:30 pm: Check into the mountain hut.
5:30 pm: Dinner.
6:30 pm: Stargazing.
9:00 pm: Lights out.

Sunday
6:00 am: Breakfast
7:00 am: Waterfall hike.
Explore the Ozegahara marshlands and enjoy the amazing mountain scenery. Picnic lunch
2:30 pm: Finish the trek
3:30 pm: Onsen
6:00 pm: Arrive back in Tokyo at Jimboucho

Hiking guide

■ Options:

■ Bring:
- Clothes suitable for hiking (both wet/dry hot/cold weather)
- Hiking boots or shoes
- Camera
- Small Backpack
- Sleep sheet*.
- Onsen gear
- Towel
                *To put over the futon. For example a regular single sheet or camping compact sleeping bag liner.

 ■ Health & Safety
- No handshakes.
- Must bring own masks.
- Mask must be worn on bus and in public areas (indoor & outdoor)
- Must bring own hand sanitizer.
- No sharing drinks.
- Social distancing should be maintained.
- Must have own health insurance.
- Temperature will be checked throughout the course of the trip.

- The itinerary may change due to weather, traffic, or other unexpected events.
- This is a private trip, payment details will be sent out once minimum numbers have been met.
- By signing up you are committing to the trip. If you have to withdraw for some reason you will be responsible for your share of the costs. You are welcome to find a replacement traveller to take your spot.
- Please do not join if you are running a fever at the time of the trip.

20 - 14 days before the trip: 20% of trip cost
13 - 7 days before the trip: 40% of trip cost
6 - 3 days before the trip: 50% of trip cost
2 days before the trip: 100% of trip cost
No show: 100% of trip cost

・ハイキングに適した服装（暑さ寒さに対応でき、濡れてもいい服装）

■健康と安全のために
・握手はしないでください。
・マスクを必ず持参してください。
