Welcome to Instrumental Music at Forest Ridge! Howard County Public Schools offer instrumental music instruction to students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Students in the 3rd grade have the option to play in the Orchestra (Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass). Students in the 4th and 5th grades have the option to play in the Band (Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion) or the Orchestra. 

Enrollment in band or orchestra requires a student to participate in all classes for the ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR. Students will not have the option to withdraw from the class mid-year. Additionally, students are required to perform in a minimum of two concerts per year outside of the school day (in alignment with HCPSS Policy 8090). Dates, times, and locations of these performances will be provided by your instrumental music. 

After submitting your enrollment form, please wait for instructions from your instrumental music teacher before obtaining an instrument or other materials from a local music store. ¡Bienvenido a Música Instrumental en Forest Ridge! Las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Howard ofrecen instrucción de música instrumental a los estudiantes de 3.°, 4.° y 5.° grado. Los estudiantes de 3er grado tienen la opción de tocar en la Orquesta (Violín, Viola, Violonchelo, Contrabajo). Los estudiantes en los grados 4 y 5 tienen la opción de tocar en la banda (vientos de madera, metales, percusión) o en la orquesta.

La inscripción en banda u orquesta requiere que el estudiante participe en todas las clases durante TODO EL AÑO ESCOLAR. Los estudiantes no tendrán la opción de retirarse de la clase a mitad de año. Además, se requiere que los estudiantes se presenten en un mínimo de dos conciertos por año fuera del día escolar (de acuerdo con la Política 8090 de HCPSS). Las fechas, horas y lugares de estas presentaciones serán proporcionados por su música instrumental.

Después de enviar su formulario de inscripción, espere las instrucciones de su maestro de música instrumental antes de obtener un instrumento u otros materiales en una tienda de música local.
