Expectations in terms of schoolwork during periods of leave:
  • Subjects should have an outline of what is happening in school on the google classroom
  • If there is work the student can do at home it will be assigned, and students should do it if possible, however, every subject is different and some work (e.g. practical / group work) may not be possible at home
  • If the student is not present for the majority of the learning towards an assessment, they will be made aware by the teacher that they could miss out on that assessment
  • Teachers are not expected to skype/meet the student while the student is away
  • Teachers are not expected to catch students up when they get back, or to give extensions, unless the reason for leave is stated in the NZQA rules (e.g. funeral / tangi)
