Mines 3-Minute Thesis Workshops 2025
Want to improve your presentation skills and ability to communicate with a wide variety of people?

Mines participates in the international "3MT" program to help graduate students develop important presentation skills, especially for non-specialist or public audiences!

During workshops, we provide guidance and support as students prepare and deliver a 3-minute summary of their thesis research in an engaging, accessible way. One single static slide is allowed as an illustration.

The program is designed for PhD students, who are eligible to compete, but MS thesis students are welcome to join the Mines workshops if they wish. And this year, we'll host a faculty challenge at our final event too!

Prizes at Mines range from $100 (top 10) to $1000 (first place)!  We will send our PhD winner to a regional contest in April among Colorado universities, with additional awards ($500+).
