Do you know a graduating student who would make a great commencement speaker? You can use this form to encourage them to apply! Please use this form by Friday, February 19.

The Student Commencement Speaker offers an address during the Spring 2021 commencement ceremony and serves as the graduating class representatives. Undergraduate students will participate in the Commencement Ceremony.

Providing the student address during this important university event is an opportunity to celebrate the graduating class's accomplishments, reflect upon the past few years, and convey a message for the future.

Along with notable members of the UAA and UA community and other important Alaskan representatives, the Student Commencement Speaker participates in pre-commencement activities and is seated on the main stage during the program.

Speaker Eligibility
- Applicants must be graduating in the semester of application
- Enrolled in at least three (3) credits at the University of Alaska Anchorage
- In good disciplinary standing
- Minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA at the time of application

After recommending a student, they will receive a notification encouraging them to apply for Student Commencement Speaker. We will send your recommendation to the student; whether they know it's from you is up to you!
