Youth Service Awards Program 
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) Youth Community Service Award is presented annually as part of the MLK Holiday Celebration in Southfield. Young people are accomplishing great things just as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. did at an early age. Today’s youth are learning a great deal about leadership, helpfulness, and the spirit of community through volunteering. The MLK Youth Community Service Award is an opportunity to celebrate young people who give to their community through volunteer work. 
Criteria 
1. Students in Wayne, Oakland , or Macomb counties 

2. Be between the ages of 12 to 21. 

3. Displaying Courage or Compassion

4. Advocate for Peace and Justice
 
5. Leadership qualities in their school, church, or community.

4. Recipient must attend youth leadership program event 

5.Application must be submitted by December 18, 2023, or email to mlkeducation1929@gmail.com.
