Thank you for participating in the selection process for the 2020 Community Awards presented by the Monmouth-Independence Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center. Your votes and nominations put the "community" in the Community Awards by helping determine this year's winners. Complete the online ballot and join us as we celebrate the many successes of businesses, organizations, and individuals in our community during 2019!


The nomination and selection process for the 2020 Community Awards is as follows:

Business & Organization Awards Ballot
Community members have the opportunity to vote for one Chamber member per business or organizational category on the ballot. The top three recipients of votes for each category will be announced and listed on the final ballot. Final ballot votes will determine the winner for each business and organizational category. In addition to winning its respective category, the recipient of the most votes overall will be named the Business or Organization of the Year. All winners will be announced during the 55th Annual Community Awards Banquet on Friday, March 13th at Western Oregon University.

Citizen Award Nominations
Community members may submit one nominee per category for awards presented to individuals. The individual award categories include: Citizen Awards (First Citizen and Distinguished Service), Junior Citizen, Educator of the Year, and Education Support Staff Employee of the Year. A selection committee made up of community members will select the winners based on the listed criteria and statements of support provided for each nominee. All nominees will be listed on the MI Chamber website the week of February 18th. All winners will be announced at the 55th Annual Community Awards Banquet on Friday, March 13th at Western Oregon University.

* Please note, statements of support for each nominated individual must be entered prior to submitting a completed survey. Survey entries are not able to be saved then continued at a later time. Although encouraged, you are not required to submit a nominee for all categories.


Important Dates:
January 2nd - 31st : Primary Ballot open to vote for Business & Organization Awards and individual nominations.

February 5th - February 15th: Secondary Ballot open to vote for Business & Organization Awards nominees.

February 18th - 28th: Selection Committee will meet to determine winners of Individual nominations.

March 13th: Winners announced at the banquet
