Sherwood Park Ringette Association ("SPRA") has received an increase in requests from players outside of Strathcona County boundaries wanting to register with SPRA.
SPRA acknowledges our responsibility in providing opportunities to athletes who don’t have access to their desired programming within their own community but must balance those requests with opportunities to our local athletes and families who have grown up with SPRA, as well as the impact to our ice resources. (SPRA athletes without a Strathcona County address are not included in our ice allocation numbers which is starting to result in a shortage of ice for our association.)
If you are wanting to register with SPRA for the first time and:
- Don’t have an address within Strathcona County;
- Looking to play Active Start, U10 (Step 1, 2 or 3), U12 (A,B,C), U14 (A,B,C), U16 (A,B), U19 (A,B);
Please complete the form below for review by SPRA’s Team Selection Committee. (Note that SPRA Power AA Programming has its own Import Policy and you are not required to complete this form to tryout for Power AA unless you intend to tryout for “A” if you aren’t selected to a “AA” roster)
SPRA’s Team Selection Committee will evaluate your application and will respond on or prior to August 28.

SPRA’s decision will be based on:
- SPRA’s registration numbers (team sizes);
- Access to programming and team viability within your home association;
- Reasons stated for wanting to register or try-out with SPRA.
