Academic Support Center Student Employment Application Form for Fall 2023
The ASC would like to hire a minimum of FIVE individuals for Fall 2023 employment. Note that a minimum commitment of 6 hours per week is needed and training will be required in early September.
Applications are due and this form will close on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 12:00pm. If your application is chosen, you will be contacted for an interview between March 22–24, 2023 and your references contacted at that time.

Student Employees in the Academic Support Center (ASC) provide general and confidential office support including front desk and phone reception, appointment scheduling, routine tasks, and assigned projects. Additionally it is expected an employee will train into a specialty area such as a Peer Academic Coach, a Peer Accessibility Coach, promotions creation and organization or other independently-designed position. The ASC seeks to help students create and maximize their personal employment experience. The ASC offers reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities who require and request accommodations in order to perform work in this office.
Requirements:
–Must be at least a sophomore, in good academic standing, by Fall 2023
–Be able to provide a current resume (attach as a PDF below)
–Be able to secure two references (list below)
–Exhibit professional, organizational, and communication skills
–Abide by strict confidentiality rules
–Uphold personal conduct and reliable attendance code
–Take initiative working both independently and with a team
–Attend specialty training sessions
–Be able to attend occasional meetings and devote between 6-8 hours per week in the ASC
Responsibilities:
–Attend and participate in staff meetings and one-on-one meetings with the Program Coordinator
–Assess students' current practices and make suggestions for improvement
–Provide personalized support to peers who are seeking assistance
–As a Peer Academic Coach (PAC) – meet with students to coach them in four-year planning, study skills, organization or time management skills
OR
–As a Peer Accessibility Coach (PAC) – meet with students to coach them in accessible technology resources including audio books, text-to-speech readers, study skills apps and more
OR
–Provide a specialized service to the office including but not limited to graphic design, promotions, record-keeping and assessment
