Invited Postdoc Talk Competition 2022

Applications are now open for the 2nd Annual Georgia Tech Postdoc Talk Competition in Polymer Research

This competition will allow postdocs in the polymer research community to participate in an invited talk at Georgia Tech. Each finalist will be chosen to give a virtual 40-minute seminar style presentation on their recent research. Following the presentation, the finalists will be invited to virtually meet with Georgia Tech faculty and other members of the Student Polymer Network (SPN) community for networking. Finalists will be chosen based on the strength of the application package, which includes a 3-minute video.

All application materials must be submitted by October 27th, 2022 11:59 pm EST. Selected post-docs will virtually present either on November 11th, 2022 or December 2nd, 2022. If you have any questions about the application process or competition, please email spn@gatech.edu

Application Requirements/Eligibility:

- Must currently be a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate

- Research should be related to polymer science and/or engineering

2.  A 3-minute (max) video overview of the research topics you would present in slideshow format

- The video may be put in your personal google drive or other cloud drive, the URL link to which is emailed to spn@gatech.edu

- You may use Zoom, PowerPoint or other software to record your presentation and save as a single MP4 or MOV formatted file

- Your face does NOT need to show up in the video but your voice does 

How your video will be judged:

- Your video editing skills will not be judged

- A team of judges from the Georgia Tech SPN community will review all applications

- The quality of your public speaking skills and interest in research topic will be judged

- A diverse polymer audience should be able to understand your presentation easily

- Level of effectiveness of your slides and visual components will also be judged
