Thankyou for your interest in Exaudi youth choir. Following is some information about the choir, and a request for information about you. Please complete and return.
About Exaudi:
Age: 18 – 30ish
Size: ~80 singers
Director: Juliana Kay, Associate conductor: Mark O'Leary OAM
Requirements: some choral experience and music reading skills
Rehearsals: Monday nights 7.30 – 9.30pm at Armadale Baptist Church
Performances: generally around 4-6 per year. Our major performances are our Winter Concert (June), Gathering Voices (September) and a Christmas concert (December). Each year also tends to include other gigs in collaboration with other events or organisations.
Camps: We have an annual weekend residential rehearsal camp in February
Tours: Exaudi tours each year. Tours are not compulsory but are a key part of the Exaudi experience and the reason that our singers stick around for many years! Past tours include: regional Victoria (2014), Hobart/Festival of Voices (2015 and 2021), Malaysia/Singapore (2016), Canberra/National Folk Festival (2017 and 2022), Darwin/Top End (2018), Ireland/Scotland (2019), Italy/Spain (2023)
Participation fee: $245 per half year, discounted to $220 if paid on time
Commitment: Exaudi strives for high standards of music making and thus requires its singers to attend rehearsals regularly (at least 80%), and learn music at home if rehearsals are missed. We also ask choir members to let us know with plenty of notice if they can’t attend a performance, and let us know if they can’t attend a rehearsal.
Governance: Exaudi is one of the choirs of Young Voices of Melbourne Inc, a non-profit organisation providing music education and performance opportunities for young singers
