We are currently all staffed up, but in Mid March/early April we will be looking for new students to join our team (must be sophomores or juniors, sadly, no seniors unless you are staying in the area for college as we need workers that will be staying through January 2025). We will also be looking for other age groups for part time positions, as long as you are planning on keeping a job through at least January 2025 as well! We are a scratch made southern style bakery, owned and operated by a mom and daughter. Our recipes are family favorites and include everything from pies, cakes, cookies, scones, muffins, brownies, cheese spreads, biscuits, fruit breads, rolls, cupcakes, and more. Some responsibilities may include scooping cookies and other batters, mixing and baking from set recipes, refilling/stocking ingredients, and running ovens. As well as, serving customers, restocking displays, general organizing, packaging, general cleaning of bakery and displays. We also would love to find someone to help us ice cakes!
We work Wednesdays-Sundays with Mondays and Tuesdays off (except holiday weeks or leading up to our two big farmer's markets in September and November) and try to be semi-flexible with shift times. Holidays are our busiest time so shifts on holiday weeks, weekends, and days leading up to the individual holidays are a definite and have opportunity for overtime pay. Some experience with large scale baking is a plus, but not a necessity, as we can teach you all the secret handshakes to the baking world!
Must be 16 years or older, be able to separate from cell phone during shift (except during breaks or for emergency), lift 50 pounds, stand for the whole duration of your shift (4-12 hours), pass local food handlers card test (we will send you the proper link), and be up to date with Covid-19 vaccine and boosters and able to wear a mask for the duration of your shift, as well as refrain from smoking or vaping for the entirety of your shift (no smoking is allowed on, in, or around on our property or during your shift). Must also be detail oriented. Baking is all science, conformity, and in the details. A highly detailed oriented person is the ideal candidate for us. If you cannot comply with any of the items mentioned here, no need to apply as the above are non-negotiable.
If you are a high schooler, you must be able to work during the school year and on Wednesdays-Sundays. If you play a sport or are heavily involved with after school activities, this is sadly, NOT going to be a great fit for you, as most shifts for our high school age team members are 3-730pm (later during holidays) and we require all of our workers to be able to commit to most, if not all, weekends. We like to be up front on the time commitment baking takes so that we can all be on the same page. :)
While we love our summer season employees, we are not currently hiring for any additional positions, those that apply need to be able to continue working in the fall with us. A lot of training goes into every position here at our mom-and-pop shop so we can't lose our team in the fall when our busy season starts up. Thank you for understanding.
