September 15-17, 2023 open wood firing sign up

Please read What to Expect When Firing the NHPG Kiln before signing up for a firing.  Wood-firing is a lot of work and we need everyone to participate fully.  It's an amazing process and working together is a wonderful part of it!

You must be a member of the guild to fire.  There is a non-refundable deposit of $25. This will be subtracted from your firing fee.  The firing fee of $650 is split among the firing group in proportion to the amount of work in the kiln.   If you pull out of a firing after August 20 the deposit will considered to be a donation to the guild.  See link at the bottom of this form to join/renew membership and pay deposit.

Any firing is subject to cancellation or postponement if there are drought conditions, excessive rain, not enough dry wood, not enough people signed up or not enough work to fill the kiln. The firing leader determines the size and make up of the crew, based on experience levels and other factors.  We reserve the right to limit the size of the crew if need be.

LOADING THE KILN begins at 9:30 am, September 15, at 20 Perry Road, Deerfield, NH.  Firing shifts and unloading date will be determined at this time.

How much work you will bring?  It takes six or more tables (72 x 24" each) of work to fill the kiln, depending on the height of work.  How much of a table will your work fill? Average height of work? It is better to have too much work than not enough. We will fit in as much  as we can, but may not be able to fit all in.  Very large pieces are not appropriate for this kiln. *
