Chapter & Hub Lead Expectations

Before beginning the application process, please proceed through our Chapter/Hub Lead expectations. These guidelines are for a rewarding relationship and experience for both parties. This is not a contractual agreement and Chapter/Hub Leads are volunteers that can leave at any time.

Chapters & Hubs are core to what we do at Climate Designers, and offers great reward to Leads and their communities alike.

It is also an involved process to launch a new Chapter/Hub, and building community takes time. Please ensure you have thoroughly read the "Interested in Starting A Chapter?" information before proceeding.

The best way to support Climate Designers is to only sign up to start a Chapter/Hub if you know you have the capacity to follow through and are excited about the long term potential.

Time Commitment

We ask for a 1 year commitment for Chapter & Hub Leaders. The most successful Chapters & Hubs are run by those who have been with us for many years. Building local community is a long term endeavor.

We recommend that Chapters & Hubs aim for a minimum of 4 events per year for best success. Events can be very simple and held in public spaces. 

The time commitment per event varies, but account for several hours of work per event to cover ideation, creation, promotion, and follow up.

If Chapters & Hubs do not host an event for a year, we close them.

Are you committed to running the Chapter/Hub for a minimum of 1 year, and aiming for 4 events per year?

Communication

Chapters & Hubs operate independently, however it is important that Leads are communicative with the central team for periodic check ins to keep everything running smoothly and up to date.

We expect Chapter & Hub Leaders to acknowledge and reply to direct messages and asks from the central team within a few days.

If Leads become consistently unresponsive on Slack and email, we will offboard them and close the Chapter/Hub.
