School leaders are only able to authorise absence from school in exceptional circumstances.

In making a request for a term time absence from school you will need to explain the circumstances. Please note: there is no general right to authorised absence for a family holiday. If you take your child out of school without permission, failure to make a request for leave of absence in advance will result in the absence being recorded as unauthorised, and could, in some circumstances, result in a fixed penalty notice from the local authority.

You are advised not to make any arrangements until your request has been considered.
