Spirituality and Catholic Social Justice Teaching at St. Brigid's Parish.  March 14 and 21, 2020 (two Saturdays in a row).  9:30 am to 3:00 pm.  The two sessions take place in St. Anthony's Hall, 85 Post Ave., Westbury, NY.  Parking and entrance in rear of the building. (Other parking is on-street or opposite 75 Post Ave/Fifth Ave.)

A one-half hour lunch break is included in each day.  Unfortunately, lunch/refreshments will not be provided (there is a deli a short block away - or you may bring lunch/beverages.  There is a refrigerator in the Hall).

Course Description:  This course will introduce the seven themes of Catholic Social Teaching (CST) and help participants explore the relationship between spirituality and CST.  It is hoped that attendees will come to appreciate the breadth of Catholic Social Teaching and see it connected to and integrated with a vibrant Catholic spirituality and sense of missionary discipleship.  The church's social teaching, born from Scripture and the long Tradition of the church, impacts the human capacity to understand, promote and protect human dignity and the basic rights all persons have as children of God.

This course fulfills the requirements of the Diocese of Rockville Centre's Office of Faith Formation Religious Studies Program - Advanced Certificate Program - for a 10 hour advanced course.
