Policing in Saratoga County - Condensed Survey
In 2020, protests around the country took place after the police-involved death of George Floyd in Minnesota. Those protests called for action and accountability for racially biased law enforcement. In response, the Governor on June 12, 2020, issued Executive Order 203, directing local governments to perform a comprehensive review of police use-of-force policies and procedures, to examine the needs of their residents, to foster public trust and confidence, and to address any racial bias and disproportionate policing in communities of color.
Accordingly, Saratoga County Board of Supervisors Chairman Preston Allen established an advisory group to help develop a plan for improvement and obtain input from all relevant stakeholders.
We ask that you complete this survey to assist us in recommending a plan to Chairman Allen and the Board of Supervisors. Your responses will assist the Board and the Sheriff’s Office in developing the plan and thereby assure our community that no racially biased policing will exist in Saratoga County.
Your responses will be anonymous, unless you choose to supply your name at the end of the survey. Either fill in the answer in the space provided, or fill in the appropriate multiple-choice selection.
Thank you very much for helping us comply with the executive order.
