Benchmarking Your Sales Career
Welcome to the 2021 Individual Salesperson Compensation Survey.

COVID-19 has had a significant impact on all of our personal and work lives. Even without the pandemic, the pace of change in the sales profession has accelerated and the need for salespeople to adapt and embrace change has never been greater. Sales forces are evolving. Salespeople are increasingly having to change their processes and re-skill to optimize their performance. Technology, customer expectations and organizational change are all affecting how we sell, what accounts and products we focus on. Sales compensation is THE primary communications tool for management to tell salespeople what they value, need their people to deliver and where to focus their time and sales efforts.

Our survey will enable you to assess your compensation level, compare measures of sales success and evaluate your perceptions of the program that you are working under against other individuals in the same or similar roles and in yours or different industries.

This is the inaugural year for what we hope will be an annual survey to gauge the sales compensation environment for individuals within the Canadian sales marketplace. We need commitment from all participants in the market to truly paint a realistic picture of what salespeople are being paid and what companies need to pay to attract, motivate and retain them to remain competitive. With recent demographic forecasts indicating fewer entrants into professional sales, the competition for top sales talent is beginning to heat up in Canada.

This survey is confidential. The results will be shared in summary format through a report that will be provided to all participants. Personal information that you provide will not be shared with employers, other participants or the public. If necessary, we will contact individual participants to only confirm data and information provided to ensure that our report is as accurate and reliable as possible.
