The
2024 hands-on ATV safety classes are geared toward ATV operators ages 10-15 but are open to all ages. The (2.5) hour long safety class involves two components: A classroom review of basic ATV operation, common ATV controls, MN rules and laws, and responsible ATV riding skills (learned from having completed the online ATV Safety Course) plus written quiz - conducted by MN DNR-Certified All-terrain Vehicle Safety Instructors. The second component is outside where students demonstrate their riding skills on a 3-stage ATV obstacle rider course and
MUST wear proper protective riding gear consisting of riding gloves, over the ankle boots, long sleeve shirt and long pants, DOT approved helmet and goggles/face-shield.
Students are requested to bring a Class 1 ATV 4-wheeler they fit and are comfortable riding. Particular emphasis for the class is placed on safe riding techniques.
Students are required to have completed the online safety course to be eligible to take this class. They MUST print their completion voucher and bring it to class. Class will not be cancelled due to rain. Dress appropriately for the weather.
Parents and students are to arrive 30 minutes early to unload ATV and check-in/registration (inside building).
Parents need to stay with their child and attend the classroom learning so that the reinforcement coaching of the learning can continue at home.

To pre-register your child for a specific safety class held in May or June, completely fill out the form and click on the SUBMIT button. Students will be placed on a sign-up sheet for the preferred class and a confirmation email will be sent to you along with additional information and requirements. Thank You!
