This video tells you everything you need to know about this project!
https://youtu.be/ZFbCbYZNg6kI'm working on a project right now called "unheard vegans", where I interview vegans who are in situations that affect their ability to be vegan either just a little, or a lot.
So this can apply to vegans who are poor, disabled, have a mental or physical illness, live in a food desert, homelessness, live with parents that control the food you eat, etc.. pretty much any situation that can make your life difficult as a vegan.
Once the interview is done, I make the text into a lil comic (and I will draw you!)
You don't have to be a "perfect" vegan, you just have to believe in anti-speciesist values. If your situation forces you to eat animal products sometimes this still absolutely applies to you. (Even Rich Hardy had to eat animal products during his undercover work in slaughterhouses and farms!)
The objective behind this project is to give a voice to vegans who are often ignored- vegans being stereotypically associated with whiteness, being middle class and living in big cities. I'm hoping that this project helps to show the diversity within the movement. Once I get enough interviews I'm hoping to print out all the comics into one book that can be purchased. The comics are also available on instagram (@ spoiledsocks)
