2020 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Academic Programs: Call for Proposals

The MLK Planning Committee invites proposals from faculty, staff, students and community members for academic sessions to be offered on Monday, January 20, 2020, from 8:30 - 11 a.m. that support the MLK Celebration theme of:

Rise Up Against Injustice

The Academic Programs Sub-committee will consider academic sessions that: explore, analyze, or inform our understanding of Dr. King’s lasting mission of improving the world, rising up against injustice. Session content may explore the past, present, or future and address issues, challenges, and successes related to the 2020 theme.

Sessions of research-focused, practice-based, or relevant topics could be presented as a: poster session, general session, interactive symposium session, lightning-round session, performance session, or other presentation format.

Please submit your proposal through the following link by the November 22, 2019 submission deadline. The following information is required for submission: 60 word abstract, name(s) and contact information for all participants, and the connection to the 2020 theme. All those submitting a proposal will be notified of their proposal submission status by December 13, 2019.

Important Dates to Remember:
November 22, 2019 at 11:59 p.m (EST) -  Deadline for submission of program proposals
December 13, 2019 -  Deadline for notification by sub-committee to presenters of program submission status
January 20, 2020, 8:30 a.m to 11 a.m - Presentation of academic program sessions
