In the Summer of 2024, as the corporate parties choose their candidates for the 2024 Presidential Election, tens of thousands of poor and working people will gather to march on their conventions, to bring the message of prioritizing #LivesOverLuxury. Poor People's Army is organizing anchor organizers in every state and territory to mobilize people to the march.
Wherever they meet for the DNC and RNC, the politicians and corporate backers of both corporate political parties, we will bring our message. They do not prioritize poor and working people's lives. We are not interested in 4 or 8 more years of the same things we've had for decades. Poor people are dying in the streets, in rural communities and cities alike, from preventable atrocities: lack of food and healthcare, from opiates and the drug war, from police, from suicide, from gun violence, endless war and military spending.
We need drastic changes and we need to prioritize the basic necessities of life for people: food, water, clothes, housing, healthcare, access to education and communication. We know these things provide a base level of a thriving life, which can prevent so many of the problems we face. We want these necessities with no strings attached, no surveillance, and no hoops to jump through to get them. Every human on the planet deserves these things. And we have all the resources and capacity necessary to provide these things. But those in power choose not to.

For the last two decades, the Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign (aka Poor People's Army) has organized the largest marches on the openings of both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. Tens of thousands of people have joined our marches, and we have shared our message with the world’s media. Now, with all the crises happening in the country and the world, what we do when we have the world’s attention (on opening days of these conventions) becomes even more important. We need to use that time with the world’s media to talk about crucial issues for humanity and to gather our forces. We are facing the destruction of the environment and food and water supplies, poverty, hunger, community violence and police brutality, homelessness, and war.
In the lead up to the DNC and RNC, throughout 2023 and 2024, Poor People's Army will continue holding Bootcamps (multi-day trainings during camping trips) and organizing mutual aid networks across the country, and rapidly building the Poor People’s Army and allies. We are building alliances and connections between existing groups that want to stand independently from the Corporate Democratic and Republican Parties. We invite you to join, affiliate, and learn more, as well as to join us in marching on the corporate parties in Washington.
Because we know you know the seriousness of all this, we are asking for your assistance. Wherever the Democrats and Republicans choose to meet, we will travel there and set up encampments, and march on the opening day of the convention. We as poor and working people will show our political independence, and demand that both political parties begin to prioritize #LivesOverLuxury.

Help support local, state and national organizers to attend
Host an in-person or virtual fundraiser
Designate a person to be on weekly organizing calls
Promote the march to your members monthly
