Erin's Law Parent Opt-Out Form
Northwest Local School District Families,  The State of Ohio passed Erin's Law in 2022.  Erin's Law is a state mandate aimed at promoting awareness and prevention of child sexual abuse.  The law requires that all public schools implement age-appropriate curriculum to educate students on personal body safety. The goal is to empower children with the knowledge and skills to recognize, resist, and report inappropriate behavior. The instruction will begin in late April and May of this school year.

Parents have the right to opt their children out of the curriculum.

If you wish to opt your child out: Please complete the opt-out form for each K-6 student in your home that you want excluded from the required child abuse lessons under Erin's Law. We ask that you complete the form by April 24, 2024 so that we can create a plan for students who opt-out.

Please do not fill this form out if you want you child to have access to the required curriculum.
