General Information

PFLAG Leonardtown is hosting an LGBTQ+ History Fair at this year’s Pride Southern Maryland event. This year’s Pride celebration is taking place October 9th, 2022, 12pm to 4pm, at Lexington Manor Passive Park (21675 South Coral Drive, Lexington Park, MD 20653).

The LGBTQ+ History fair is open to any student in a K-12 school in Southern Maryland. Participants will create a display focused on a specific person or event that has significantly impacted LGBTQ+ history. Pride attendees will vote for their favorite display and the top scorer* in each category (Elementary, Middle, High) will win a prize basket! *Projects must meet all the requirements listed below in order to participate.

Parent/guardian permission is required. It is strongly encouraged that parents help their child choose a topic and oversee the research of that topic. Feel free to start with the list of people, events, and resources below!
